What to Expect

Starting counselling or coaching can feel like a big step, especially if you’ve never worked with someone in this way before. My approach is grounded, collaborative, trauma-aware, and tailored to the individual.

At Refined Counselling & Training, I work integratively — drawing from counselling and coaching modalities, psychoeducation, nervous system support, reflective practices, spiritual formation, and practical strategies to support whole-person wellbeing.
Sessions are personalised and adapted to your goals, needs, personality, and lived experience.

This is not a one-size-fits-all process. Some people come wanting support through overwhelm, burnout, emotional exhaustion, identity struggles, relationship difficulties, or life transitions. Others are wanting support around self-awareness, boundaries, neurodivergence, emotional regulation, confidence, spiritual formation, or moving forward in life with greater clarity and purpose.

For those wanting faith-integrated support, sessions can also include spiritual reflection, contemplative practices, identity work, prayer, or spiritual formation in a grounded and client-led way.

The Process


1. Book a Session:
Book your session at the bottom of this page. 
Choose your appointment date & time. 
Fill out the form. 
Make payment.

2. First Session

Once you have made your booking, a zoom link will be emailed to you. Click on the link to join the session.

The first session is focused on understanding you more holistically — your experiences, goals, current challenges, patterns, strengths,
relationships, wellbeing, and what support may look most helpful moving forward.


We may explore:
- current stressors and challenges
- emotional wellbeing
- nervous system patterns and regulation
- identity and self-worth
- relationships and boundaries
- coping strategies and habits
- goals and areas of growth
- neurodivergence and sensory/emotional experiences
- faith, spirituality, and meaning (if relevant to you)
- and so much more!

 
There is no pressure to share everything immediately.
The process moves at a pace that feels safe, collaborative, and sustainable.




3. Ongoing Sessions
Sessions are collaborative and tailored to your goals and season of life.
The aim is not simply insight, but helping you build sustainable change, healthier rhythms, greater self-awareness,
emotional steadiness, and practical movement forward in everyday life.
