Supporting the whole person

You are more than a diagnosis, a symptom or a difficult season.

Integrative counselling recognises that wellbeing is shaped by many interconnected parts of life. What you're experiencing emotionally may be connected with your relationships, physical wellbeing, environment, past experiences, beliefs, identity or the demands you're carrying.

Rather than using a one-size-fits-all approach, I draw from evidence-informed therapeutic approaches and adapt our work to your individual needs, strengths and goals.

Together, we can explore what's happening beneath the surface, understand how different areas of your life may be influencing one another, and develop practical strategies that support meaningful and sustainable change.

WHEN LIFE DOESN'T LOOK THE WAY IT USED TO

Life is full of transitions.

Some are chosen. Others happen to us.

Relationships begin and end.

Children grow up.

Careers change.

Families change.

We move, separate, lose people, take on new responsibilities, reconsider old beliefs and sometimes find ourselves in a life we didn't expect.

Even positive changes can unsettle our sense of stability and identity.

Sometimes the person who entered one season of life isn't quite the same person coming out of it.

Counselling can give you somewhere to make sense of that change without needing to rush towards an answer.

WHO AM I NOW?

Identity isn't fixed.

It develops through our experiences, relationships, roles, values, beliefs and the ways we've learned to understand ourselves.

Sometimes a significant experience changes that understanding.

You may find yourself questioning roles you've held for years, expectations you've lived under, relationships that once made sense, beliefs about yourself or what you actually want from the next season of your life.

You might be asking:

  • WHO AM I OUTSIDE OF THE ROLES I'VE BEEN FILLING?

  • WHAT DO I ACTUALLY WANT?

  • WHAT MATTERS TO ME NOW?

  • WHICH PARTS OF MY LIFE STILL FIT — AND WHICH DON'T?

Counselling doesn't need to provide an immediate answer.

Sometimes the work begins by creating enough space to ask the questions honestly.

RELATIONSHIPS CAN REVEAL OUR PATTERNS

Relationships can be some of the most meaningful — and challenging — parts of our lives.

The ways we communicate, respond to conflict, seek connection, protect ourselves, set boundaries or take responsibility for other people's emotions often have a history.

You may notice yourself repeating patterns even when you understand intellectually that they aren't helping.

You might struggle to say no.

You may avoid conflict until resentment builds.

You might become anxious when someone pulls away or find yourself withdrawing when relationships become emotionally demanding.

Or you may simply want to communicate more clearly and build healthier relationships.

Counselling can help you become curious about these patterns rather than simply judging yourself for having them.

BOUNDARIES WITHOUT LOSING CONNECTION

For many people, setting boundaries sounds straightforward until they actually have to do it.

You may understand what a healthy boundary is but still experience guilt, anxiety or fear when you try to establish one.

Perhaps you've become accustomed to keeping the peace, being the reliable person, meeting other people's needs or avoiding disappointment.

Boundaries aren't about controlling other people.

They're about understanding what you're responsible for, what you're not responsible for, what you need and what you're willing to participate in.

Counselling can help you recognise existing patterns and develop boundaries that support both your wellbeing and healthier relationships.

GRIEF ISN'T ONLY ABOUT DEATH

Grief can accompany many kinds of loss.

The end of a relationship.

A friendship changing.

Children growing up.

A career ending.

Moving away from a community.

Losing an opportunity.

Changes in health or capacity.

Discovering something about yourself that changes how you understand your past.

Leaving a church, community or belief system.

Or recognising that something you hoped would happen probably won't.

Some losses are visible and recognised by everyone around us.

Others are much harder to explain.

Counselling can provide space for grief that may not have had anywhere else to go.

SEPARATION & RELATIONSHIP CHANGE

The end or significant change of a relationship can affect far more than the relationship itself.

It may change your daily routines, family structure, finances, friendships, living arrangements, parenting, future plans and sense of identity.

You may experience grief and relief at the same time.

You may know a decision was necessary while still mourning what was lost.

Or you may be trying to understand what happened and what you want relationships to look like differently in the future.

Counselling can provide somewhere to process the emotional impact while also navigating the practical and relational realities of change.

WHAT WE MIGHT WORK ON TOGETHER

IDENTITY & SELF-UNDERSTANDING
Exploring who you are, what has shaped you and how you want to understand yourself moving forward.

RELATIONSHIPS & COMMUNICATION
Recognising relational patterns and developing clearer, healthier ways of communicating and connecting.

BOUNDARIES
Understanding your needs, responsibilities and limits while developing practical ways to communicate them.

GRIEF & LOSS
Making space for recognised and unrecognised losses and the changes that accompany them.

SEPARATION & RELATIONSHIP CHANGE
Navigating the emotional and practical impact of changing or ending relationships.

SELF-WORTH
Exploring beliefs about yourself that may have developed through past experiences, relationships or expectations.

VALUES & PURPOSE
Identifying what matters to you and how those values might shape the decisions you're making now.

FAMILY & PARENTING TRANSITIONS
Navigating changing family roles, parenting demands and shifts in family relationships.

WORK & LIFE CHANGES
Support through career changes, study, relocation, changing capacity or reconsidering what you want from your life.

PERSONAL GROWTH
Counselling doesn't require a crisis. You may simply want to understand yourself better and intentionally work towards change.

WHEN YOU'VE SPENT YEARS BEING WHAT EVERYONE ELSE NEEDED

Sometimes we become very good at fulfilling roles.

The responsible one.

The capable one.

The peacemaker.

The parent.

The partner.

The leader.

The person everyone calls when something goes wrong.

Those roles may be meaningful and important.

But sometimes, underneath everything you're responsible for, it becomes difficult to answer a much simpler question:

WHAT DO I NEED?

Counselling can provide space where you don't have to be responsible for managing everybody else's experience.

We can focus on understanding yours.

CHANGE DOESN'T ALWAYS MEAN SOMETHING IS WRONG

There are seasons when the way you've been living simply doesn't fit anymore.

That doesn't necessarily mean your previous choices were wrong.

Sometimes you've changed.

Your circumstances may have changed.

Your understanding of yourself may have changed.

Or your priorities and values may be becoming clearer.

Counselling can help you distinguish between what you genuinely want to carry forward and what you may have been carrying because it was expected of you.

NEURODIVERGENCE, IDENTITY & RELATIONSHIPS

For neurodivergent adults, identity and relationships can sometimes involve additional layers.

A late ADHD, autism or AuDHD diagnosis may change how you understand your past, relationships and the ways you've adapted to meet other people's expectations.

You may begin recognising masking, people-pleasing, sensory or communication differences, burnout or needs you previously didn't have language for.

Where neurodivergence is part of your experience, we can explore it through a neurodiversity-affirming lens.

You don't need to be neurodivergent to work with me.

FAITH, IDENTITY & CHANGE

For some people, significant life transitions also raise questions about faith.

You may be reconsidering beliefs, experiencing changes within a church or faith community, navigating spiritual disappointment, questioning how faith intersects with your identity, or trying to understand what you believe now.

For clients who want it, Christian faith and spirituality can be thoughtfully integrated into counselling.

You don't need to hide difficult questions or arrive with everything spiritually resolved.

And if faith isn't relevant to you, it doesn't need to be part of counselling at all.

FAITH INTEGRATION IS ALWAYS OPTIONAL AND GUIDED BY YOU.

YOU DON'T NEED TO KNOW WHAT COMES NEXT

Sometimes counselling begins without a clearly defined destination.

You may simply know that where you are now isn't where you want to remain.

We can start there.

Together, we can explore what's changing, understand what has shaped you, identify what matters now and develop practical ways forward that reflect the life you want to build.

RELATIONSHIPS, IDENTITY & LIFE TRANSITIONS

Understanding what's happening beneath the overwhelm — and finding practical ways forward. Sometimes you've been carrying too much for too

Support for the seasons when life changes — and you find yourself changing with it.

Sometimes there isn't one clear problem that brings you to counselling.

You might be questioning a relationship, adjusting to a major change, grieving something you've lost, reconsidering who you are, or simply recognising that the life you've been living no longer feels like the life you want.

You may know something needs to change without knowing exactly what that change should be.

Counselling can provide space to step back, understand what's happening and explore what matters to you as you work out what comes next.
