Cancellation Policy

# In-Home Counselling Policy Refined Counselling & Training offers in-home counselling where clinically appropriate for clients who may find it difficult to attend appointments. Home visits are available by prior agreement within selected areas. Clients are asked to provide a private, quiet space where interruptions are minimised. While every effort is made to protect confidentiality, privacy cannot be guaranteed if others are nearby or able to overhear the session. Home-based counselling may not be suitable where safety concerns exist, adequate privacy is unavailable, or a higher level of care is required. Refined Counselling & Training reserves the right to decline or discontinue home visits if they are not clinically appropriate. Sessions may be ended or rescheduled if the environment becomes unsafe, there is threatening behaviour, significant alcohol or drug intoxication, or any circumstance that prevents safe and effective counselling. Clients are responsible for providing safe access to the property, securing pets if required, and advising of any access instructions before the appointment. If access cannot be gained within 15 minutes, the session may be treated as a late cancellation. Sessions are conducted with the client unless another person's involvement has been agreed in advance. Children and other household members should avoid interrupting the session where possible. Refined Counselling & Training is not a crisis service. If there is an immediate risk to safety, emergency services may be contacted. In an emergency, call 000. The standard cancellation policy applies. A minimum of 48 hours' notice is required to cancel or reschedule. Where appropriate, appointments may be changed to an online session instead.
