Service Description

Walk & Talk Counselling offers an alternative to traditional counselling by combining therapeutic conversation with gentle movement in a natural outdoor setting. Many people find it easier to open up when walking side by side rather than sitting face to face. Being outdoors can also encourage reflection, reduce stress, and create a calm environment for meaningful conversation. If preferred, part of the session can also be spent sitting together in nature. Best suited for: - Ongoing counselling and emotional support - Stress, anxiety, burnout, or overwhelm - Life transitions, identity, and personal growth - Clients who process thoughts and emotions more easily while moving - Neurodivergent clients who prefer a less formal counselling environment - Those who enjoy spending time outdoors What this session includes: - Integrative, trauma-informed counselling support - Gentle walking at a pace that suits you - Space for emotional processing, reflection, and problem-solving - Practical strategies, insight, and achievable next steps - The flexibility to walk, sit in nature, or combine both throughout the session How it works: - 60 minutes or 90 minutes - Held at an agreed outdoor location - Walking pace and distance are tailored to your comfort and abilities - Sessions can include walking, sitting, or a combination of both - Confidentiality and the unique considerations of meeting in a public space will be discussed before your first session - If weather or other conditions are unsuitable, sessions can be moved online or by phone Walk & Talk Counselling is not about exercise or fitness. The focus remains on counselling, with movement and the natural environment providing a supportive setting that many people find enhances the therapeutic process.

Cancellation Policy

Walk & Talk Counselling Policy Walk & Talk Counselling combines professional counselling with gentle walking in an agreed public outdoor location. These sessions offer an alternative to traditional office-based therapy, with the natural environment providing a calm and supportive space for reflection and conversation. Locations Sessions are held in agreed public locations that are considered appropriate for counselling. Depending on your preferences and the therapeutic goals of the session, we may spend the time walking, sitting in nature, or a combination of both. Confidentiality As sessions take place in public spaces, complete privacy cannot be guaranteed. While your personal information and counselling remain confidential, other people may see us walking together or nearby. If we encounter someone either of us knows, I will follow your lead and will never identify you as a client. If privacy is interrupted, we can pause the conversation, change direction, or continue once appropriate. Health & Safety Walk & Talk sessions involve gentle walking at a pace that is comfortable for you and are not fitness or exercise sessions. Please wear suitable clothing and footwear, bring water if needed, and advise me of any medical conditions, injuries, mobility concerns, or accessibility requirements before your appointment. By booking, you confirm you are physically able to participate or have discussed any relevant limitations with me. Weather If weather conditions are unsafe or unsuitable, your session may be moved online, by phone, or rescheduled by mutual agreement. Clinical Suitability Walk & Talk Counselling may not be appropriate for every client or every presenting concern. Where a private setting is clinically indicated, or if safety or confidentiality may be compromised, I may recommend online or phone counselling instead. Arrival Please arrive a few minutes early at the agreed meeting location. Sessions finish at the scheduled time, regardless of late arrival. Cancellations My standard cancellation policy applies. Appointments cancelled with less than 48 hours' notice, or missed without notice, may incur the full session fee. Consent By booking a Walk & Talk Counselling session, you acknowledge that you understand the nature of counselling in a public outdoor environment, accept the associated considerations regarding privacy and safety, and consent to participating under these conditions.
